The Executive Committee of AVAPL is pleased to provide you with an online version of our newsletter! The newsletters are provided in Adobe Acrobat format, and you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you may download it here. NOTE: These files may be very large and will take a long time to access, especially if you're accessing the internet through a dial-up connection. You may choose to download the newsletters to your computer's hard drive. To download a newsletter, place your mouse cursor on top of the link to the newsletter and click the right mouse button. From the menu that pops up, select "Save Target As...", and designate where on your hard drive you want to save the file.
The AVAPL Newsletter Throughout the Years
From its inception in 1977, AVAPL has provided a newsletter to its members to keep them informed about important issues for VA psychologists. Thanks to AVAPL historian Dr. Rod Baker and the Drs. Nicholas and Dorothy Cummings Center for the History of Psychology (CCHP) at the University of Akron, past issues of the newsletter from 1977 to 2003 have been digitized and are available for viewing and downloading by clicking here to access a document with summaries and links to each newsletter. You can also access the newsletters at the CCHP website through links on their Special Interest Collection at http://collections.uakron.edu/cdm/landingpage/collection/p15960coll1 (select Newsletters of the Association of Veterans Association Chief Psychologists & Association of Veterans Association Psychologist Leaders from the listed subcollections). Learn about the history of AVAPL and browse through the newsletters.
